Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage shredded
  • 2 cups carrots shredded
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed

Instructions 

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrots.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, vinegar, oil, salt, mustard seed, and celery seed. Bring to a boil.
  3. Pour the hot mixture over the cabbage and carrots. Toss to coat.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
