  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup beer cold
  • 4 fillets white fish such as cod or haddock

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the cold beer, whisking until the batter is smooth.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Dip the fish fillets into the batter, coating them evenly.
  5. Carefully place the battered fish into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the fish from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
