Instructions
Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and egg until smooth.
Insert wooden skewers into hot dogs. Dip hot dogs into batter until well coated.
Fry 2 or 3 corn dogs at a time in the hot oil until lightly browned, about 3 to 4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
