Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Green tomatoes sliced
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • ½ cup Buttermilk
  • 2 pieces Eggs beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 cup Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. 1. Slice the green tomatoes into ¼-inch thick slices.
  2. 2. In a bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3. In another bowl, mix the buttermilk and beaten eggs.
  4. 4. Dip each tomato slice into the buttermilk mixture, then coat with the flour mixture.
  5. 5. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. 6. Fry the tomato slices in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. 7. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
