Main Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef 80% lean
- 1 large Onion sliced
- 8 slices Rye Bread
- 4 slices Swiss Cheese
- 4 tablespoon Butter divided
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black Pepper
1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and form into 4 patties. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
3. Butter one side of each slice of rye bread. Place 4 slices, butter-side down, in the skillet. Top each with a slice of Swiss cheese, a beef patty, caramelized onions, and another slice of Swiss cheese. Top with the remaining slices of bread, butter-side up.
4. Cook the sandwiches until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side. Serve hot.
