Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Red wine 750 ml
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 1 Orange sliced
  • 10 Cloves
  • 2 Star anise

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large pot, combine the water and sugar. Heat until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. 2. Add the cinnamon stick, orange slices, cloves, and star anise. Bring to a simmer.
  3. 3. Reduce the heat and add the red wine. Heat gently, but do not boil.
  4. 4. Let it simmer for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  5. 5. Serve hot in mugs, optionally garnished with a slice of orange or a cinnamon stick.
